Leading Experts for Extraordinary Innovation
Dr. Mimi Aminah binti Wan Nordin is an experienced entrepreneur who commercialises university-based technology. As the CEO of Constellation Ventures, she and her partners have launched tech-driven firms in Renewable Energy, Agriculture, Healthcare, and Halal Fintech.
Dr. Mimi began her career as a telecommunication engineer at Telekom R&D before transitioning to academia as a lecturer at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). At IIUM, she teaches courses such as Electromagnetic Theory, Antenna Design, and Electronics. She also developed the Technology Entrepreneurship course for engineering students and led the Innovation and Commercialisation Unit, managing the university's intellectual property. Additionally, Dr. Mimi has been instrumental in founding several technology startups and was appointed 2021 to head an advisory council at the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) to mobilise university research for the National Key Research Area objectives.
Dr. Mimi earned her undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering and completed her PhD in 2014, focusing on electromagnetics engineering. Her PhD research involved developing a conformal metamaterial antenna for wireless applications, examining electromagnetic dispersion. In 2015, she received a full scholarship from Bank Negara to participate in the MBA collaborative program with MIT Sloan.
